Between White Walls
Between White Walls

The exhibition design for Between White Walls at Paul Ege Art Collection (PEAC) in Freiburg, Germany is a tribute to the minimalism and spontaneity that is at the core of Colour Field Painting. The PEAC Museum is one of Europe’s most comprehensive collections in the field of Color Field Painting, including additional works representing Minimalism and Conceptual Art.

Nathalie Opris used industrially inspired materials in the design of this exhibition, coupled with simple, ad-hoc presentation methods, making the artworks instantly relatable and accessible – a stark contrast to the typical white-cube experience. By creating a wall-sized mood board, the design playfully encourages visitors to share their impressions, which also allows for an engaging dialogue to take place.
In the second part of the show, the design even allows visitors to select and independently arrange artworks in the last room of the 9-room exhibition space.
